1. Complete the Princeton Financial Aid Application (PFAA) for Prospective Students

Once you have applied for admission, you can apply for financial aid with the Princeton Financial Aid Application. Log in using the Princeton University account you created for admissions application.

1. Complete the Princeton Financial Aid Application (PFAA) for Prospective Students

Once you have applied for admission, you can apply for financial aid with the Princeton Financial Aid Application. Log in using the Princeton University account you created for admissions application.

2. Provide Supporting Socumentation (2023 Tax Return & W-2 Statements)

Once you submit the PFAA, you will be able to upload 2023 tax documents. The required document may be uploaded in the appropriate field. You can use the "other" document type to upload additional documents. The federal income tax return upload should be signed and include all schedules, W-2 statements, and K-1s if applicable. Business tax returns are also required. If your parents do not file a U.S. tax return, we recommend you review Additional Application Requirements at the bottom of the page.

3. Submit Non-Custodial Parent Information

If your parents are divorced, separated or unmarried and living in separate households, and your custodial parent is not remarried, you are required to complete the Non-custodial Parent Form or Non-custodial Parent Waiver Request Form to be considered for need-based aid at Princeton.

3. Submit Non-Custodial Parent Information

If your parents are divorced, separated or unmarried and living in separate households, and your custodial parent is not remarried, you are required to complete the Non-custodial Parent Form or Non-custodial Parent Waiver Request Form to be considered for need-based aid at Princeton.

If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you are required to submit the 2025-2026 FAFSA as part of your aid application. Be sure to include Princeton's Federal School Code, 002627, on the form to ensure we receive your completed FAFSA.

Additional Application Requirements

Tips for Submitting the 2025-2026 Online Application

You may save your data and return to the Princeton Financial Aid Application (PFAA) as many times as you wish before submitting; we will provide confirmation after we receive your application. We recommend that you print your application prior to submitting. Once the application is submitted, it cannot be viewed. Any edits or new information must be uploaded or sent by letter, fax, or email.

When entering income, assets, and expenses, have the following information available:

  • Parents' 2023 tax return — signed form 1040 plus schedules, all W-2 statements, Schedule K-1s, and business returns if applicable
  • Parents' 2023 untaxed income — contributions to tax-deferred savings plans, VA benefits, housing allowances, etc.
  • Current value of parents' assets — savings, investments, total value of 529 college savings and/or prepaid tuition plans, real estate/business/farm equity, the family home, and retirement funds
  • Student's current assets — savings, investments, trusts, and Uniform Gifts to Minors
  • Family's current expenses — undergraduate college costs for siblings and unreimbursed medical and dental expenses

Submit tax documents

  • You may upload your 2023 tax documents in .pdf format directly to your application; remember to include W-2 statements, Schedule K-1s, and business returns if applicable
  • Combine multiple .pdf documents into one file before uploading
  • Non-custodial forms and tax documents may also be faxed or mailed to our office

  • Remember your FSA ID and keep it in a safe place
  • Use Princeton's institution code, 002627, to send the FAFSA to us
